Wet 'n Wild Eyeshadow Palettes

L-R (Petal Pusher, Sweet as Candy, and I Got Good Jeans)
I have seen so much hype around the Wet 'n Wild eyeshadows that I had to grab a few for myself a while ago. Not only are they highly pigmented, but they come with a cheap price tag, and a nice variety of palettes.

The palette with 8 eyeshadows retails for around $4.99 at most drugstores, and the palettes with 3 eyeshadows retail for about $2.99.

Petal Pusher
On the left side of the palette, there are 4 purple shades that can blend together flawlessly. This is my favorite side of the palette.
On the right side, I like the two lightest shades, but do not like the dark ones. When I depotted my eyeshadows not to long ago, I threw away those two shades since they were of no benefit to me.

 Sweet as Candy
Out of all of my WnW palettes, this one is my favorite. I love the shimmery off-white eyeshadow with the shimmery soft brown, adding just a bit of pink for brightness. This one is very similar to Walking on Eggshells, but Sweet as Candy has the pink shadow where as Walking on Eggshells has a peachier shade and the brown is warmer.
This palette would be perfect for an everyday eye look.

I Got Good Jeans
I have nothing like this in my eyeshadow collection and wanted to add some blues. I figured this would be the perfect buy since 1) It is cheap, 2) highly pigmented, and 3) you get three great shades!

I am very satisfied with the Wet 'n Wild Eyeshadows and would love to add more to my collection!

Mani Mondays | Estee Lauder Purple Passion

Hey everyone! I have finally done my nails, in what seems like weeks! It is always nice to have nothing on the nails, but I love having nail polish on.

This week's mani/pedi is the Estée Lauder Purple Passion. It retails for $20, but I have the mini version of it. This nail polish was in a set that I bought last year with three other nail polishes, including the shade Porcelain.

Purple Passion is a vibrant, light purple shade with some magenta. Reminds me a bit like Barney the Dinosaur's color! He was my childhood favorite show to watch.

The consistency of this nail polish is great, and from previous applications, the formula lasts a good week without chipping. I only applied one coat and my nails have full coverage. I could have done two, just to make them look flawless, but honestly did not want to go through the trouble of waiting for two coats to dry.

I love Estée Lauder nail polishes, but unfortunately are very expensive. I don't think I would spend so much on one unless it was a unique shade that no one else had and I wanted.
Overall, I think they are beautiful nail polishes to try out!

Strawberry Passion!

If there is one thing  you should know about me, is that I love strawberries! They are easily my favorite fruit to eat and to smell.
It was only a few years ago that I started to like them. I was at a strawberry field and we were able to pick them. It was there that I smelt the delicious, sweet, sun-ripened strawberry and fell in love.
Since I like strawberries so much, I decided to do some research and see what the symbolism is for them. I found out that strawberries have been a symbol for purity, humility, and modesty. They also symbolize love, happiness, and success.
Because a strawberry is often shaped like a heart, it makes it a love symbol. Also, the green leaves can symbolize eternity, or eternal, so the strawberry can also be the symbol of an eternal love. WOW! I love them even more now (haha).
This year, I actually wanted to find products that had a strawberry scent. There are so many products on the market that say "strawberry" but smell so fake and artificial. That was NOT what I wanted, and am completely turned off by it.
The above image is what I have found that has the sweet, strawberry scent.
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter
This body butter was my first Body Shop purchase, but I had it in the small jar. I liked it so much that I bought the full size which is $20 for 6.9 oz. I bought it when it was part of a special going on. This body butter provides 24 hour hydration and is great for normal to dry skin. I usually apply my moisturizers before I go to bed and I wake up with hydrated skin. It has shea butter and a sweet strawberry scent.
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist
Since I loved the scent, I went for the body mist. It is $12 for 3.3 fl oz. It contains strawberry extract and is in a glass bottle. What I love about it is that it is light and fresh with a gentle burst of sweet fruitiness.
The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel
I wasn't sure about getting this, but I heard many good things about the Body Shop shower gels. It has real strawberry seed oil and the scent is not too overpowering. So if you want the scent to linger on  you all day, you may want to use the shower gel, body mist, and the body butter combined. It has a nice lather and is soap free which is good for the skin as soap tends to dry it out.
True Blue Spa Nourishing Body Bar (Strawberry Banana)
I know this is not a purely strawberry scent, but it is fun to mix it up sometimes! True Blue Spa is found at Bath and Body Works. This bar is $7 for 7 oz. Usually, BBW has a buy 2 get 1 free special going on. If you are lucky enough,  you can find it buy 2 get 2 free! This bar smooths, softens, and cleanses skin while replenishing vital nutrients with vitamin rich strawberry and banana extracts. It also has glycerin which attracts moisture to the skin. The bar lathers amazingly and is very rich feeling.
Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap (Strawberry Hibiscus)
I love these foam hand soaps from BBW. They last for a long while when you use just one pump. For only one, it is $5.50 for 8.75 oz, but the ongoing promotion is 4 for $15, 6 for $20, OR 5 for $15, 7 for $20, depending on the day. The strawberry is also mixed with a hibiscus flower scent, but it is still good. The soap has honey, coconut milk, and olive fruit extracts that help nourish and soften skin. Also, mango fruit extracts leave hands gently cleansed and conditioned.
Bath & Body Works Small Candle (Strawberry Picnic)
These are the BEST candles I have ever tried. For 4 oz, it is $10. There is also a 14.5 oz candle for $20 that is often on special with the 2 for $22 which is an amazing deal. I'm going to be honest...the first time I smelt this candle, I did not like it and thought it to be very sweet like vanilla frosting. However, I smelled it burning in the store and although it is still sweet, it is delicious! Almost like a strawberry shortcake. So I bought it! The notes in this candle are red, ripe summer strawberries, wild raspberries and sweet buttercream frosting. The candle has vegetable wax, has a lead free wick, and is made with the highest concentration of fragrance oils. Best part is, it has a moderate to high throw!
Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm
I have a rose salve lip balm but when I saw that there is a strawberry one, I jumped on that idea. I bought it at Sephora for $7, and comes with 0.8 oz of product. It is made by the Rosebud Perfume Co. and is in a cute vintage-styled tin. It moisturizes my lips well, but don't think it is amazing. But it is light weight, which I prefer having on my lips anyways.
Skintimate SignatureScents Moisturizing Shave Gel (Strawberry Tangerine Twist)
I usually buy the men's cheap shaving cream which works good. Yet, I wanted to try women's shaving gel and saw the strawberry tangerine one! I'm not a fan of tangerines, but it really does make this shaving gel really good. I bought mine at Walmart for about $3, and you get 7 oz of product. It has olive butter, vitamins, and antioxidants that give skin moisture. The light pink gel transforms into a rich white foam when lathered. After shaving, skin feels soft, smooth and moisturized.

What are some of your favorite strawberry products?

Keratin Complex Infusion Therapy Kerabalm

I received Keratin Complex Infusion Therapy Kerabalm* as a PR sample. It is described as a "BB cream" for hair. It can be found at keratincomplex.com and retails for $28.00, and is 1.7 oz.

It is a 3-in-1 Multi-benefit hair balm that primes, protects, and perfects.
Prime
- Smooths rough texture in the cuticle to create a perfect canvas for styling.
- Creates a weightless protective barrier around the hair shaft to repel humidity all day.
Protect
- Keratin instantly strengthens and reduces breakage.
- Apple stem cell extract rejuvenates and renews to deliver shinier, more youthful looking hair.
Perfect
- Lightweight hydrating formula extends life of your style.
- Argan oil restores shine, softness, and manageability.
- Weightless formula can be layered with other Keratin Complex styling products to increase product efficiency.
- Extends the life of Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy treatments.
My Thoughts
I have been using this balm for the past few months, however, I have not seen much of a difference in my hair. The only thing I have noticed is that my hair is a bit less frizzy, but not by much.
I think that this balm would ideally work if it was paired with other Keratin Complex products or with the treatments. I do not think it is a stand-alone product.
I would not purchase this product as it didn't do much for my hair.
However, if you do use other Keratin Complex products or do the treatments, it is possible that this may work for you.

Ipsy Glam Bag | July 2013

Finally, I get a chance to sit down and write a blog about the Ipsy Glam Bag. I made the video when I got it last week, but have been very busy these last few days.
Anyways, for those of you who do not know, Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that sends out 4-5 deluxe samples and often times full size products for only $10/month. For my referal link, click here.
July's theme is "Beach Beauty". The bag that came was a clear pink, cylinder shaped bag that had 5 products inside.
Big Sexy Hair "Weather Proof" Humidity Resistant Spray (1.4 oz)
This spray is suppose to be shaked well and applied to your finished hair look to repel humidity, combat frizz, and maintain your style.
The full size is 3.4 oz for $18.95 and can be found at Ulta.
Price: $6.32 for 1.4 oz
Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in "Coral Crush" (0.1 oz)
Pouty Pop Crayon "nourishes, treats, and adds that perfectly plumped pop to lips" and "leaves lips with luscious, long-lasting colour with a super-smooth texture".
This lip crayon comes in 6 shades but is only available in a kit with all of them for $25. They are not sold individually as of yet.
The crayon is a full sized item, which is great. The color is a bright pink coral and has a minty scent to it, similar to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.
Price for one (based on the kit): $4.16 each
BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample
This sample contains three shades, one from each of the California Collection palettes (Hollywood, San Francisco, and Malibu).
Each full sized palette comes with 16 eyeshadows, and 4 blushes and retails for $17.95.
Price for sample: $2.69
Benefit Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain (Sample Size)
This is a "rose-tinted stain that is kiss-proof, see through color for lips and cheeks that lasts for hours". Interestingly enough, it is also rose scented!
It is a bit drying on the lips, but since it is a stain, you can wear a lip balm with it and it will be fine.
Full size (0.40 fl oz) is $30.
Coola Mineral Face SPT 20 Rose Essence Tinted Moisturizer (0.23 fl oz).
This sunscreen is also a tinted moisturizer and is titanium dioxide based.
It is made with 98% natural ingrediets.
It is also hypoallergenic, paraben-free, ultrasheer, anti-aging, and water resistant for 40 minutes.
The full size is 1.7 oz for $36.

Swatches
Benetint, BH Cosmetics (Hollywood, San Francisco, Malibu), Pop Beauty Coral Crush

Overall, I liked this bag! I was excited to try many of the different items that were featured. The only one I was a little disappointed in getting was the Coola Tinted Moisturizer, but after swatching it and learning more about it, I think I will really like it.

$5 DIY Z-palette!

This "z-palette" cost me $5!
After watching depotting eyeshadow videos on YouTube, I started looked online for a Z-palette to order. I liked the idea of placing all of the eyeshadows that were in mini palettes into one bigger one. However, the palettes were so expensive online. Somehow, YouTube led me to a DIY Z-palette video. I was intrigued and started to watch several more.
As soon as I got all the information I needed, I quickly looked for the supplies so that I too could make one.
What You Need:
- DVD case
- Decorative paper (I used a scrapbook paper)
- Magnetic strips/paper
- Box cutter
- Glue
- Tape
- Depotted eyeshadows
I find it much more organized and I feel like I will have more creativity seeing all the eyeshadows in one place.

Depotting Eyeshadows

For some time, I did not want to depot my eyeshadows. I thought it was a waste of time and I was happy having all of my mini drugstore palettes.
Just recently, I started watching YouTube videos about depotting shadows and placing them in a Z-palette. It looked like a great idea!
So, I got a knife and rubbing alcohol and started taking out the shadows! I made a video of how I did it.
I depotted Covergirl, Wet 'n Wild, Estée Lauder, and Lancome.
Some of the eyeshadow pots are magnetic, but others need a magnetic piece on them so that they can stay on the magnetic palette.

July 2013 Wishlist + Don't Spend 60 UPDATE

Good afternoon! The last few days I have been enjoying relaxation, and got to visit my best friend over the weekend. It was so good seeing her again!
Since fall is approaching shortly, I have created a wish list of things that I would like to use during the season.
Wishlist
1. MAC Lipstick in Plumful
I love having a plum lip for the fall, and I think this one would be gorgeous.
2. Lancome Blush Subtil in Aplum
I use to have a mini version of this blush and loved it. It comes off a bit berry like but also has the plum, which I think is beautiful for the fall.
3. Urban Decay Naked Palette
Yes, this palette is very expensive, and I did not originally want it, but I have grown to see the beauty of it. There are many beautiful eyeshadows in this palette that I think would make the perfect fall eye. Plus, I have never tried Urban Decay eyeshadows and would love to try it!
4. Nars Orgasm/Albatross duo
This duo has been a cult favorite for many years. It is said to give a lovely glow to the face.
5. Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation
Some days, I do not want to wear a liquid foundation, but want to use a powder foundation to cover up my face a bit. Kat Von D's liquid Lock It foundation is fantastic, and would love to try the oil-free powder foundation.

Don't Spend 60 Update
If you remember my post from June 1, (click here), I mentioned that I would be doing a makeup spending ban from June 1-July 31. That date is approaching quickly! The reason I did it was to save money for a new camera, to teach myself self-control, and to use what I already own.
A few days ago, I bought my new camera! I am still playing around with it and am so excited about it. I can't wait to take pictures and film videos with it!
As far as the update, I did get the Tarte Braziliance Skin Rejuvenating Maracuja Face and Body Self Tanner.  I had returned an item I did not like back to Sephora, and since I could not find my receipt, I got store credit. With that credit, I got the tanner, and I still have money left over! So technically, I did not spend any money!
I also received my June Ipsy bag, and am currently waiting for my July Ipsy bag. The rules said it was okay to get the bags even while on my ban.
Yesterday, I ran to Walgreens because I ran out of dry shampoo. There was a deal of buy one get one 50% off. I took the advantage of it and also got a heat protectant, since mine was running out anyways.
I cannot wait till July 31 so that I can hopefully purchase at least one of the above items from my wish-list!

Purple & Turquoise Eye Shadow

Hello lovelies! I played with some eyeshadow and attempted to film my first eye makeup tutorial for YouTube! Unfortunately, the camera does wash out some of the color, but this picture is how it turned out!
As a base, I used Too Faced Naked Eye Palette, In the Buff to wash over the lid.
Next, I applied theBalm Balm Jovi Rockstar Paletterem to the eyelids, and used Memento in the crease.
After, I wet my brush and used Tarte Aqualillies Cheek and Eye Palette, Poolside on the lid.
Once again, I used rem and Memento in the designated areas listed above, and then blended it all out.
I used Tarte Aqualillies Amazonian clay black eyeliner to line the upper lash and create a winged look.
Then I put on my J. Cat Beauty False Eyelashes and applied Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! mascara as a finishing touch.

DIY Soy Candle

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a good week and are looking forward to a great weekend. A few days ago, I decided to make my own soy candle. The thought process and planning for it began about a month ago, and it wasn't until last week that I actually put it together. The directions are pretty simple, and it turned out nice. However, for next time, I need to add more fragrance so that it has a stronger throw.
Watch the video to see how to make it!

FOTD: Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth of July!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful Independence Day. Unfortunately, I work, but after that I get to spend time with family and friends and watch fireworks!
I decided to keep everything natural, and add a nice bold red lip to represent America. To see a list of what I used on my face, check out my July Monthly Make up Bag. Everything is used, except the lipstick. For today, I used Rimmel Kate Moss #01, Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple, and Buxom Lip Cream in Cherry Flip.

In honor of the new Despicable Me 2 movie coming out this week, I painted my nails with Minions! I absolutely adore this movie. It is so cute and the best part is definitely the yellow minions. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
