GFC and Bloglovin?

I'm sure everyone has been hearing about Google removing GFC. However, this has been a hot topic for the past several years and nothing has yet happened. Maybe something will happen, but maybe not. Anyways, I'm going to have Bloglovin on back up just in case. I will still be using GFC, unless it really does go away. But just to play it safe, go ahead and follow me on Bloglovin too! What do you think about this GFC craze?

Buxom True Hue Blush ~ Swept Away

Spring is just around the corner and so are light springy colors! Every where you look, they seem to be there. It brings a nice, fresh, and romantic look. Buxom Swept Away blush is such a product that reminds me of spring. Even the name of it is great!

I never knew Buxom had blushes until I got Swept Away in the giveaway I won. It is from the Buxom True Hue Blush line. The blush retails for $24 and can be found exclusively at Sephora or on Bare Escentual's website. I think the shade is gorgeous! It is a peachy nude, although I see a bit of pink it in as well. The swatch is pretty pigmented, but since it is a light shade, I have to build it up on my cheeks to note that it is there. I don't mind building up colors because it is much easier to add on blush then take away if you applied too much!

The packaging has magnets that keep the lid closed, and there is also a mirror inside.

Buxom says that these blushes have a featherweight formula. They are definitely correct! The blush feels very light weight on the skin. I have never realized it before, but there are some blushes that feel heavier then others.
The staying power is fine. Because Swept Away is a sheerer shade, it will fade quicker than a darker blush, but I still think it holds up pretty well throughout the day.

Too Faced Glamour Gloss

Too Faced Glamour Gloss is a "super-shine lip gloss with a natural plumping and cooling action." It claims to have rice lipids and dehydrated marine spheres that collect moisture and plump lips, while omega 3, 6, and 9, natural vitamin E, jojoba and avocado oils moisturize lips to have a youthful appearance. Each lip gloss is 0.12 oz, and retails for $19 at Sephora and on the Too Faced website.

I have the shades Sex Pot and This is Pretty! Sex Pot is described as a sheer lilac, and This is Pretty! is a neutral rose. I got Sex Pot for Christmas. Not gonna lie, at first I was a little taken back by this lip gloss because I hadn't worn lip gloss in a while and it was a purple-y pink shade, which I do not usually go for. I didn't think it would look good on me. Boy was I wrong! I fell in love with the lipgloss and color so much that I went out and bought This is Pretty! because I wanted more colors. Although Sex Pot is a lilac shade, it has a special little charm every time I wear it, whether alone or with other lip colors. If you haven't noticed, I use it in many of my "FOTD" posts.

The lip glosses come in a cute packaging. On the cap there is a jewel like clear crystal that makes it feel a little glamourous. It has a nice tip applicator and grabs the right amount of the gloss to apply to lips. It has a sweet minty scent, but no flavor. When applied, the gloss does tingle on the lips, but it is comfortable. I actually like the refreshing tingle. The formula is not sticky and provides lots of shine.

       Sex Pot                                             This is Pretty!
On my lips, Sex Pot brightens up my appearance. This is Pretty! just enhances my lips a bit and looks normal, but is still pretty. I love wearing Sex Pot because it can make a dull lip color look pretty and it can also make a dark/brown shade of lipstick more pinkish. Like I said, it is a little charm!
Would I repurchase? Yes! I am planning on repurchasing Sex Pot when it runs out because I think that it is my holy grail lip gloss *gasp*, just because it can be so versatile. This is Pretty! is nice, but I wouldn't repurchase that one.

Today's Buys

Hello! Today I went shopping for some pretty good deals! I got the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara at Ulta for $10! It is regularly $19, but this month is 21 Days of Beauty, and the featured deal of the day was this mascara. I have been wanting to try it out so I got it. Next, I went to my local drugstore and Rimmel was 50% off. I got the Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 01, and I bought Scandal Eyes kohl liner in Black and Nude. I also got some Eco Tools eye brushes. Finally, I got the Bobbi Brown eye corrector in Porcelain Bisque. It wasn't on sale, but since my local Sephora does not carry Bobbi Brown in the store, I had to travel further. I was in the area and decided to pick it up.

Its Cleaning Time!

It is time to clean my brushes, so I thought, "What better time than to do a post on cleaning makeup brushes!" I find it pointless to go out and buy a makeup brush cleaner, which can run pretty pricey. I would rather use baby shampoo, which is gentle on the bristles and does a good job cleaning them. It is a cheaper alternative and the bottle can last a long time. I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo, which can be found at drugstores. Ideally, brushes should be cleaned once a week, but honestly, I haven't been keeping up with that. I usually wash them every two weeks, but lately it has been once a month (oops!)
 1. Rinse brush with water. Do not wet the area where the bristles attach to the handle.
2. Pour some baby shampoo onto hands
3. Swirl brush in the shampoo, and rinse with water. Wring it out gently and repeat steps 2 and 3 until water from brush runs clear.
4. Lay brushes out to dry, either lying down or with bristles facing down.
