Eyebrow Routine | Anastasia Beverly Hills

Whether you want to admit it or not, eyebrows do frame a person's face. There are so many times that I will observe people's eyebrows and think, "Those are beautiful eyebrows for her!" and other times, "what happened to her eyebrows? If only she did...". Having the best eyebrow shape for you does make you feel like you can conquer the world!

Well, there was a point in time that I did not do my eyebrows. Looking back now, I don't know what I was thinking. Now a days, I can not go outside the house without having my eyebrows done.

I have not experienced much with different eyebrow products, but I mostly stick to powder. I use to use an eyeshadow by CoverGirl, but when I ombred my hair, I needed something lighter. That is when I used an eyebrow pencil from Jane that I received in an Ipsy bag. It was perfect for the time because the pencil was lighter in color and matched me perfectly. Then, my mini Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel ran out. Since I love this product so much, I wanted to buy the full size but did not want to pay the $22; so instead, I went to Ulta and found the Anastasia Bold Brow kit that included the Brow Powder Duo, the Clear brow gel, and a Mini Duo Brush (spoolie and angled brush). This set was only $36 and had two full sized items, each valued at approximately $20 each, and the brush that could easily be pretty pricey. The shade I got was Medium Brown.

I use to use the brush that came with the set, but I forgot how much I loved my EcoTools angled brush. The bristles are much more dense and pack on color onto my eyebrows better.

L-R: Before and After

Above, you can see the difference between my eyebrows before and my eyebrows after. The powder fills in all the empty patches I may have, and warms up the color of my hairs. I can also create more of a shape for my eyebrows.

L-R: Left half, Right half, Combined

Interestingly, the Medium Brown powder does look "cool-toned" swatched, but on me, it appears warmer. Not sure how that works, but it ends up fine.

After I apply the brow powder, I set my eyebrows with the Anastasia Clear brow gel. Even though it does harden the eyebrows slightly, it does not feel crunchy like many gels do. I preveiously used the Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara, but it did not hold my eyebrows in place. The hairs would still stray. However, the Anastasia Clear brow gel keeps the hairs in place all day long.

Here is my eyebrow routine:

1. Start off with clean eyebrows.
2. After dipping brush in powder, draw a line following the shape of the bottom of your eyebrow.
3. Dip brush again, and this time, line above the eyebrow. (Be careful here, you do not want to draw to high above the line, because then, you may accidentally make extra thick eyebrows.)
4. After filling in the rest of the eyebrow, set with the clear brow gel.
5. You are done and ready to conquer the world!

I love my powder, but would love to try Anastasia's new Dipbrow Pomade. I've heard amazing things about it. Have you tried any of Anastasia's products? Comment about them below!

  1. I really want to try the Anastasia's kit to. I use the Look Brow Perfect Kit at the moment which is great as it has such a range of colours to chose from. Great review.

    1. Didn't know what it was so just looked it up. It has many colors in it! I think that would be perfect for someone who does eyebrows on a variety of different people. As for me, I wouldn't be able to use up all those shades lol.

  2. Great post! Anastasia's Brow Powder duo has been a HG product for me for ages. Gives such wonderful definition to my super sparse brows. I've been topping it lately with the Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel, which finishes things off nicely. Glad you're liking these! xo

    1. Me too! I'm slightly nervous about using tinted brow gels as I feel it might look strange on me.

    1. Most definitely. The powder is a softer look and more natural, which I quite enjoy.
