Here is a fun summer look that I will be sporting around often this summer. This video features Sephora's Strawberry Kissed cream lip stain and Colourpop's Holiday blush.
Hello everyone! If you are like me, then you may like a good mask. I enjoy using different types of masks to fit my skin's needs. Today I will show you five purifying masks that I have used, and let you know which I loved the most. They are great for declogging your skin of impurities, oil, and just giving your skin a nice, clean and fresh beginning.
Masks:
- Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask ($17-$25): Deeply clears out you pores by using activated charcoal. This one is my top favorite mask! My skin feels pure, clean, fresh, and smooth after use. I typically use this as an overnight mask.
- Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment ($69): A treatment used to promote clear complexion by targeting, preventing, and healing the skin. This is a great mask, but I have a love hate relationship with it as sometimes it helps clear my acne, but other times it doesn't.
- Sephora Mud Mask Purifying and Mattifying ($19): Cleanses the skin by removing impurities, unclogging pores, and reducing appearances of blemishes. This is a new mask from Sephora and it reminds me of the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment. It has the same drying effect as Glamglow, but personally, I would choose this one over Glamglow because 1) its cheaper then Glamglow, 2) it pretty much works the same!
- Caudalie Purifying Mask ($39) (not pictured above as it was a sample): A mask that absorbs impurities, tightens the appearance of pores, and reduces breakouts. Not a fan of this mask as it doesn't "set" and dry up like a typical clay mask does. After about 20 minutes, it still felt tacky and was a bit oily in between my fingers. I didn't really feel any declogging or purifying effects from it.
- Boscia Luminizing Black Mask ($34): A peel off mask designed to detox, purify, and brighten the skin. This is a cool mask since it does peel off. But be careful not to get it around your hair or sensitive skin areas such as eyes, since it does hurt to remove! You can rinse it with water if it is too painful to peel off. Although it is a nice mask, I don't think I will be repurchasing this as I would rather use a clay mask to purify my skin and draw out impurities.
Watch the video below for more details about each mask!

Happy Monday! A week ago, I went to see the new Cinderella movie starring Lily James as Cinderella and Richard Madden as Prince Charming. If you haven't seen the movie, I advise you check it out!
Moving onto the nails, I wanted to do something that somewhat mimicked the colorings of Cinderella, so I used the new China Glaze Ever Glaze in Breath of Fresh Air (I will do a review on this later), and on my accent nail used Julep Zelda.
Hello everyone! It is now spring 2015, and this year has flown by so fast. Just recently I've gotten into BECCA products and have fallen in love with the BECCA Blotting Powder Perfector and the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Moonstone. I also got a sample of their Ultimate-Coverage foundation, but I'm still playing with that.
I remember swatching these a couple months ago and not really finding anything great about them. However, recently, Ulta brought out a BECCA "Best of BECCA collection" set for their 21 Days of Beauty (unfortunately no longer available online but you may see it at an Ulta store) that retailed for $34.50 and contained a full-size beach tint shimmer soufflé, deluxe size shimmering skin perfector pressed, a deluxe size shimmering skin perfector, and a full size beach tint.
The BECCA Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé is 0.20 ounces and retails for $27, and six shades are currently available. They can be found at Ulta and Sephora.com. Since the whole set I got at Ulta was $34.50 for two full size items and 2 deluxe size items, I went for it. And I'm so glad I did because this shimmer soufflé is SO gorgeous!
These Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflés claim to be water-resistant and oil free, talc free and paraben free. Each pot is a combination of their top-selling beach tint mixed in with a shimmering skin perfector. The one I have, Watermelon/Moonstone mixes Watermelon beach tint and Moonstone shimmering skin perfector for a gorgeous coral red infused with pale gold.
The formula has an air-whipped gel like, cushiony consistency that provides buildable color with some natural looking radiance. With this, you will have beautiful radiant skin, and not look oily at all. As you can see in the picture above, the colors do eventually blend together, and possibly later down the road, more of the pale gold will incorporate into the coral red color.
I applied it with my e.l.f. Stippling brush and it applied so flawlessly. I absolutely love the finish and how beautiful this coral red with pale gold is on me. I may check out more of them!
Hey guys! I got a deluxe sample of the new Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash mascara. It comes out February 27, 2015 and can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, and Benefit Cosmetics. This mascara retails for $24 and claims to give length, volume, curl, lasting power, ink black color, and lash conditioning ingredients.
I personally love this mascara waaaayyyy better than Benefit They're Real. I wasn't too huge of a fan of that one. So if They're Real didn't really cut it for you either, try out this one! I most likely won't be purchasing the full size one as of yet. Depends on how the life of the deluxe sample goes. If I really like it after the sample, I will purchase it. If not, then my search for my perfect mascara will continue!
It's been a while since I have done a Mani Monday, let alone a nail design. Since Valentine's Day is later this weekend, I wanted to have some fun with nail art.
I think date night makeup should be soft, pretty, and romantic. You want to enhance your natural beauty.
I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette.
I placed Salted Caramel in the crease, Strawberry Bon Bon on the eyelids, Candied Violet in the outer third of my eye, Semisweet in my crease and upper lash line, Marzipan on the eyelid, and White Chocolate in my inner corner and brow bone.
I created a very thin and small winged look with the Kat von D Tattoo Liner. For mascara, I used Lancome Hynose Drama on the top lashes and It Cosmetics Tightline Full Lash mascara on my bottom lashes.
For lips, I lined them with Rimmel Eastend Snob liner, and used the L'Oreal Julianne's Nude lipstick, and topped it with NYX Creme Brûlée butter lip gloss.
Girl's Night Out
When I think of a girl's night out, I want my makeup to be a little more bold and fun!
I used my Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette for this look. I took Nougat into the crease and placed Bon Bon on my eyelid. Next, I used Puddin' in my crease and took it down to my upper lash line for definition. Next, I took Butter Pecan and placed it on the eyelid. Underneath my brow bone I placed Coconut Creme. For a pop of color, I lined my lower lash line with Blueberry Swirl. Finally, I took Licorice and created a cat eye with it.
For mascara, I used the Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara on the top lashes and the It Cosmetics Tightline Full Lash mascara on my bottom lashes.
For lips I used Maybelline Lust for Blush matte lipstick and topped that with Milani Sweet Grapefruit lipgloss.
Will you be going on a date or having a girl's night out on Valentine's Day?
Happy New Year my Charmers! Hope you had a fantastic start to the new year. I recently picked up the new L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24 Hour foundation in the shade 101 Classic Ivory. It was at my local CVS for $13. Some stores have them out already, but official launch of the new line is set for sometime in January.
It claims to provide a light weight, medium coverage with a demi-matte finish for 24 hours. After experimentation, I did find the foundation to be light weight, have medium-full coverage and was mostly matte on me. It began to become demi-matte after 6 hours of wear. I had the foundation on for a total of 12 hours and only blotted once, after 6 hours. The foundation held up really well in my opinion. I personally don't think it will last 24 hours, but for 12 hours, it did wonderful.
I think this foundation is a great option for normal to oily skin. Dry skin may find it a bit uncomfortable as it does cling to dry patches, but if you moisturize prior to application, I think it would look great.
