Happy 1 Year Blogiversary!

Happy blogiversary to you, happy blogiversary to you, happy blogiversary Simple Charm Beauty, happy blogiversary to you!

Woo-hoo! Its been a year since I started Simple Charm Beauty. My "first" post after my welcome post was about my face without makeup on! Thought I would let everyone know what I looked like without makeup lol. Unfortunately, my skin is still in the same acne condition. But I have come to terms with it as it will probably stay with me for a while.

I have some exciting things in my head about topics and series, but if you have any suggestions, I am all ears as well! I love hearing what you all have to say.

Below I am playing around with the "paper confetti" my brother and I made. The picture above was suppose to be of the confetti blowing around like a party, but that didn't work out, so I added sparkles with Picmonkey! (oh well).

Have a great day guys! I will be announcing the winner to my giveaway soon. Stay tuned.

So This Is Love | Cinderella

So this is love, mm-hmm-mm-hmm...I would watch Cinderella so much growing up. She definitely was my most watched Disney princess movie. Due to all the times I have seen it, I could probably quote you the entire movie as it was playing lol. I have plenty of memories as a child sitting down and watching it with my grandma. Since my grandma doesn't speak or understand English, I was so happy to play her the movie in Spanish when the DVD came out.

The next Disney princess I decided to recreate is, obviously, Cinderella. (Check out Belle from Beauty and the Beast here). The inspiration of the eye look was from Cinderella's ball gown and her blonde hair.

For the eye look, I used the new Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow palette in I'm His Breezy. In the inner corner of my eye I used NYX Golden Poppy eyeshadow. I lined my upper eyelashes with Tarte Amazonian clay liner, and lined my waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero. I used Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara on top and bottom lashes, and applied false lashes from Ardell.

Revlon Pink Pout and Bite Beauty Fig
Products Used

After applying my foundation and eye makeup, I used Tarte Amazonian clay blush in Dollface, since Cinderella has a soft pink cheek, and a mixture of Revlon Pink Pout and Bite Beauty Fig on the lips. As an added touch for radiant skin to dance in the moonlight with Prince Charming, I used Korres Mineral Illuminating Powder.

NEW | Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette 5 Pan

While in Walgreens looking for hair care products, I stumbled upon these Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow palettes. These caught my attention because not only are they beautiful colors for which I have ideas, but also because it comes with 5 shadows! For $3.99 (and a $1.00 off coupon that can be used immediately) they each came to $2.99, the price could not be beat! There are a total of 5 different palettes but I did not want an additional neutral eyeshadow palette or a black, grey, and white one.

The product claims to have macadamia oil in it to condition the eyelids while it is worn. Each palette has both mattes and shimmers and the colors can be mixed and matched for different unique looks.

Floral Values

WnW Floral Values palette focuses on the pinks, lavenders, and purples. The two lightest shades did not have deep pigmentation, but were rather very unnoticeable. All 5 shades did apply smoothly though.

Art in the Streets

WnW Art in the Streets is a palette that has colors I do not own. This one is the only palette in the collection that is completely matte. I figured it would be good to have these types of shades in my collection. For the most part, they swatched boldly except the yellow shade. It had a poorer pigmentation then the rest.

 I'm His Breezy

WnW I'm His Breezy palette incorporates different shades of blue. All very pretty. I do not have a blue eyeshadow palette, so this one was good to add to my collection. Again, the two lightest shades did not have the highest pigmentation, but were still a bit noticeable in the swatch.

Overall, these new palettes were really exciting to try. The only issue I had was that some of the colors did not transfer it's true color onto the eyelid, even with primer. They tended to turn out lighter then what was in the pan. Other than that, they can be built up and used slightly wet to achieve the color desired.

I love that Wet n Wild shadows are a great value and feel so smooth! Have you tried out these new eyeshadow palettes?
